One Day I Bit The Hand That Fed Me...

and I never looked back

I remember nursing school graduation like it was yesterday. My name being announced over the PA system, holding my degree, flipping that tassle to the side that graduates flip it to. Hugs from the fam.

                                   "You did it Ricky!"

I knew...just KNEW...I was gonna change the world, one patient at a time.

That vim & vigor carried me through the first year, as an RN, when I started to notice things. Maybe things you do too.

* patient overload...
* understaffed shifts...
* "nursing" admins who forgot they were once in our shoes (literally)...
* doctors who treated us like indentured servants...
* not getting to pee, and having a lunch break was the exception, rarely the norm...

Yeah.

They promised it would get better.

So maybe you switch jobs.

Same flavor, different badge.

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention. I'm a 1995 grad...but you would thought I just hit the floor in 2019 or 2020. Am I right?

So one day, ONE DAY, I bit the hand that fed me...and never looked back.

But hey, we hardly know each other so howz 'bout I introduce myself first...

I'd love to connect...
